Intended as interactive, The Lover makes an exact negative to the space occupied by (female) audience member's body when she sits on the protruding "seat". By sitting on the seat she is forced to mold herself to the sculpture's contours and place her face into the open cavity of the "hood." Emulating a darkly seductive and intimate experience, the audiences' interaction with this sculpture creates a sense of secrecy, dependency, and questions traditional gender roles.
